When it comes to family law, legal experience and personal compassion are always a winning combination. Our firm focuses on family law and we have a rare level of skill and understanding for divorce and child custody cases. I have successfully tried hundreds of cases in all areas of family law, including child custody, support, property, paternity, and other related matters. We service clients throughout the state of California.
I am a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Specialization – a rare distinction enjoyed by a very small fraction of lawyers in California. In addition, I have taught college-level courses on family law and over 60 continuing education courses in family law for lawyers, judges and accountants. I have also been consulted by the media on family law issues.

Robert G. Goldsmith has been a licensed California attorney for over 20 years and has limited his practice to the counties of Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino. His entire practice is devoted to resolution of family law issues such as: dissolution of marriage, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, property division, paternity and domestic violence. Although all of our clients will interact with our caring and professional support staff, Mr. Goldsmith will personally provide the individualized attention and representation that each client needs and deserves.
Even though each case is different and comes with a unique set of facts and circumstances, our approach always begins by working with the client to create a litigation strategy that is designed to help the client achieve his or her objectives in a way that is compatible with his or her unique circumstances. This approach reduces disputes, litigation fees and anxiety while putting the client in the best position to obtain his or her objectives through an amicable settlement. However, when settlement is not possible, Mr. Goldsmith excels at helping the client obtain a favorable resolution by taking the matter to trial.
“After practicing as a family law attorney for 20 years, I am very aware of the fact that I work in a service-related profession where the client has a lot of attorneys to choose from. That is why I have made it a point to provide a superior service at a competitive price. Starting at the initial intake and continuing throughout the course of representation, I listen to my client’s concerns and objectives, explain the legal issues, and then develop a litigation strategy that is tailored to the client’s needs and abilities. If the client and attorney function as a team instead of as two individuals with two separate goals, the result is much better for the client.”
